What is a Mission?
As a nonprofit organization, IHCV provides healthcare to under-served women and their families, our medical missions allow us to deliver safe medical and surgical care in developing countries where these life saving services may not be available.
We combine the talents of medical volunteers with the best practices in medical and surgical care to meet two goals: to provide live saving and safe health care while creating self-sufficient, long-term healthcare solutions.
During our medical missions, a team of highly trained medical professionals and volunteers travels to Ghana our partnering country to treat underserved women and their families during a two-week period.
On a typical medical mission, 1000 - 1,500 women and their families receive medical evaluations and 50 - 70 are surgically treated. We also use the opportunity to train and learn from in-country medical professionals, based on the needs of their health care workers or the facility where the mission takes place.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we are able to provide care to more underserved women and their families each year.
